Available: 1988 to 1989
Brief history of car:
The Dutton Legerra was an attempt at modern design allied to Dutton's ethic of cheap as chips kit price and build. Taking mechanical components from Mk1 and Mk2 Ford Escort donors as well as some parts from the Ford Capri.
The Legerra used a modified Phaeton chassis with GRP bodywork. Fully opening doors but not with wind down windows. Not a bad looking car in its day and Dutton sold a fair few before Duttons eventual demise.
The Dutton Legerra was designed to take the Ford range of engines at the time from the small capacity X-Flows to the Cologne V6 from the Capri/Granada. Still plenty around today that can be picked up cheap.
