Brief history of car:
The Ashley 1172 was Ashley Laminates first real attempt at producing kit specials (although their very first was the 750). A good looking car in its day and one that has stood the test of time.
The GRP bodywork was designed to fit all Ford chassis of 7' 6" wheelbase (E83W upright Fords). The 1172 was available as a soft top as seen in the main picture but also available was a removable hard top version and also a fixed coupe version.
The Ashley 1172 used the Ford 1172cc Sidevalve engine for its power (and hence its name)
